The Rural Electrification Act and Agriculture

Rural electrification affect agriculture profoundly. Electricity in rural areas drives all work there, and without, 98% of productivity stops. The ACT was a project implemented within the United States in the second quarter of the twentieth century by the Rural Electrification Administration (REA), a federal agency established in 1935. Agriculture is benefited greatly with the advent of electricity to power equipment, lights, and processing units.

Rural Electrification Administration and Act

Rural Electrification Administration (REA), former agency of the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture charged with administering loan programs for electrification to our rural communities. The rural electrification lobby is fighting federal cutbacks that subsidize electrical power to middle-category neighborhoods. In fact, the Rural Electrification Act (1936) was one of the foremost important pieces of legislation during the era of of the 30s. During this time, Congress passed the Rural Electrification Act, making the REA's promise of long-term funding for rural electricity a reality.
